Fredericton International Airport to Hold Emergency Exercise

The Fredericton International Airport Authority (FIAA) will conduct an emergency preparedness exercise on October 2, 2013. The event will be held near the Scotiabank South Park on Knowledge Park Drive from approximately 12:30 pm to 4:30 pm.

The emergency exercise is a regulatory requirement as well as an opportunity for the FIAA and other emergency responders in Fredericton to test their response to an offsite incident. The exercise will also involve the City of Fredericton, NB Ambulance, RCMP and the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, as well as other stakeholders.

The area and a section of Knowledge Park Drive will be closed for a period of time during the exercise. Motorists will be asked to choose alternate routes. The public’s cooperation in avoiding the site during the exercise is appreciated.

Public inquiries concerning the exercise may be directed to the Fredericton International Airport at 460-0950.
