Fredericton joins WestJet’s 12,000 mini miracles day

WestJetters suprised travellers with free parking in the YFC parking lot!

WestJetters surprised travellers with free parking in the parking lot at the Fredericton International Airport during their day of mini miracles.

Each year WestJet does something spectacular for Christmas. This year, each WestJet station – including Fredericton – got to play a part in the popular event.

“December 9th was a truly amazing day for WestJet and WestJet Encore as we made a company goal of trying to do 12,000 mini miracles for our travelling guests as well as those in our community,” explained Tiffany Rozee, WestJet Encore employee in Fredericton. “Not only did we surpass that goal, we went above and beyond what any of us thought possible. In total we did nearly 32,000 random acts of kindness across the country. In Fredericton alone, we did more than 600 mini miracles!”

A mini miracle, according to WestJet is, “simply an act of kindness that evokes a positive response from someone.”

Inspired by WestJet’s spirit of generosity, Fredericton International Airport Authority (FIAA) gave away 100 free coffees at the Freddy Bistro in the terminal.

“We’re biased, of course, but we think our travellers and community are the best, and this was a small way for us to say thank you – and hopefully put a smile on a few of their faces,” said FIAA communications officer, Kate O’Rourke.
