The Fredericton International Airport Authority is pleased to announce a partnership with HotSpot to provide a new contactless payment solution for parking in the airport’s long-term parking lot.

The project, which allows people to use the HotSpot app for payment as an alternative to the traditional ticket-based parking, was begun last year as part of the airport’s ongoing commitment to improving services. With a global pandemic underway, the project has taken on new importance by enabling travellers to choose a method of payment that does not require physical contact with machines or paper.

“This new parking option helps to further ensure the health of people who come to our airport for essential travel by further reducing the touchpoints within the airport. With this app, you don’t need to take a ticket or insert your credit card into the machine. It’s an innovative solution, and we’re pleased to be supporting this tremendous local startup company,” says airport authority president and CEO, Johanne Gallant.

Travellers can download the app on Google Play or the App Store, and instructions are available both on the YFC website and at the exit and entry gates.
