Porter Airlines announces non-stop flight from Fredericton to Toronto’s Billy Bishop Airport
Travellers will soon be able to fly non-stop from the Fredericton International Airport (YFC) to Billy Bishop Airport (YTZ) in downtown Toronto. Porter Airlines announced today that the new daily flight will launch May 5, complementing Porter’s existing flight which goes first to Ottawa (YOW) and then onwards to Billy Bishop Airport.
“We are excited to see Porter Airlines grow here at YFC,” says Fredericton International Airport Authority (FIAA) President and CEO Johanne Gallant. “The Fredericton International Airport has continued to add options for travellers over the past year, in spite of the ongoing pandemic, and this latest addition further demonstrates the confidence airlines have in our market and our community.”
“Additional flights for Fredericton are part of our overall effort to rebuild service for communities as pandemic conditions improve,” said Michael Deluce, president and CEO, Porter Airlines. “A greater choice of flights also allows more travellers to enjoy Porter’s friendly, refined approach to service, including complimentary beer and wine served in glassware, plus premium snacks.”
This new non-stop flight is a convenient option for travellers headed to downtown Toronto for business meetings or leisure trips as well as providing convenient connections to Porter’s network, including destinations such as New York, Boston, Chicago, Thunder Bay and Timmins.
“This flight announcement strengthens Fredericton’s position for meetings and conventions business. A direct flight from Toronto’s downtown Billy Bishop airport to New Brunswick’s is an excellent, convenient option for convention delegates coming into Fredericton. We’re excited about Porter Airlines offering this option. Our clients are going to love it,” said David Seabrook, Director of Tourism, Recreation and Community Engagement for the City of Fredericton.
Booking and route information is available on Porter’s website.
