The Fredericton International Airport Authority is delighted to be hosting the YFC Runway Run for a third year. Join us as we take off for mental health on May 27, 2017!
Remember, last year’s run sold out in just 7 weeks. The organizing committee is offering the early-bird special again this year, so get your registration in by December 31 to save money AND be guaranteed a spot!
It keeps getting better
Here are a few of the changes in store for the 2017 run:
- NEW SWAG this year – all runners will get a fantastic custom Buff! (and of course we’ll have a new, awesome finisher’s medal, too)
- Transfers: Once again this year, you can transfer your registration to a friend if you discover you’re not going to be able to attend. We’ve made some changes behind the scenes to ensure the process goes more smoothly than last year. Runners are responsible for completing the transfers via the RaceRoster website (see the RaceRoster site for full details).
- We want to accommodate as many runners as we can without compromising our ability to pull off a top-notch event. The organizing committee has increased the number of runners, and we are happy to be able to host 400 runners in 2017.
Two things haven’t changed: the registration fees and the run’s support for Canadian Mental Health Association of New Brunswick. Last year we raised over $34,000 for CMHA of NB, and this year—with your help—we’re planning to do even better!
Why mental health?
To date the YFC Runway Run has raised over $54,000 to support the work of the Canadian Mental Health Association of New Brunswick. With 1 in 5 New Brunswickers directly affected by mental illness, fundraising continues to be an important goal the YFC Runway Run, and the Fredericton International Airport Authority also believes that raising awareness of mental health issues through this event will have a positive impact on our entire community.
A day of events for the whole family
That’s why once again along with the run will be activities for the whole family. This popular expo will once again include a static aircraft display, opportunities for kids to get active, and airside access so that you can watch the planes arriving and departing before the run.
You don’t need to be a registered runner to enjoy the community events, so plan to bring your family and friends to cheer you on as you cross the finish line!
Partnering with our community
The Fredericton International Airport Authority is delighted to continue our partnership with the Capital City Road Runners, and volunteer Race Director Corena Walby. The Capital City Road Runners are a Fredericton-based club with a mission “to lead, develop, and promote positive running experiences in the Fredericton community.”
