PAL Airlines launches direct flights from Fredericton to Deer Lake and St. John’s Newfoundland

Travellers boarded the first flight to Newfoundland from the Fredericton International Airport today, taking advantage of the new Fredericton – Deer Lake – St. John’s route launched by PAL Airlines.

“This flight will reunite families, facilitate business between our provinces, and make it easier for Atlantic Canadians to take advantage of travel opportunities as our provinces re-open,” says Fredericton International Airport Authority President and CEO Johanne Gallant. “PAL Airlines have an excellent track record and we are excited to welcome them to YFC.”

A direct connection to Newfoundland has been in high demand from the community and with the COVID-19 pandemic having kept many families separated for over a year, this route is more important than ever.

“PAL Airlines is excited to be launching our new Fredericton service today and appreciates very much the warm reception we have received from the city and from the Fredericton International Airport Authority,” said Calvin Ash, President of PAL Airlines. “PAL Airlines’ extensive network through Eastern Canada and Quebec, along with our interline agreements with both national carriers, will enhance connectivity in the region and bring our signature customer to passengers in Fredericton.

“On behalf of the City of Fredericton, I am excited to welcome PAL Airlines to our community and the newly renovated and expanded Fredericton International Airport,” said Fredericton Mayor Kate Rogers.  “This new flight is important to families, businesses and visitors.  I thank PAL Airlines for the confidence they are showing in our community; it supports the economic efforts of our growing city and region.”

The flight operates on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, flying from Fredericton to Deer Lake and then on to St. John’s.

PAL Airlines are also planning to launch flights from Fredericton to Ottawa and Fredericton to Halifax on July 30.
