Fredericton International Airport welcomes first-ever December sun service with Air Transat

Following a successful first season at the Fredericton International Airport (YFC), Air Transat will begin its Cancun service earlier for the 2026 – 2027 winter season, with flights starting December 16, 2026.

“Introducing December sun service is an exciting step for YFC and for travellers in our region,” says Jacques Fournier, Director of Commercial Development of the Fredericton International Airport Authority. “It shows that demand is there and that travellers are responding well to the service. That is encouraging for YFC as we continue working to grow air service and expand travel options for New Brunswick.”

This earlier start marks the first time travellers will be able to depart from YFC for a sun destination in December, reflecting continued demand for convenient vacation options from New Brunswick’s Capital Region.
