YFC Runway Run sold out in just 6 weeks!
Wow! We know that our community is amazing, but even we were surprised to see the inaugural YFC Runway Run sell out in just six weeks.
On May 23, 300 runners will take off for a 5k run on Fredericton International Airport’s Runway 09-27 to raise funds and awareness for the Canadian Mental Health Association of New Brunswick (CMHA of NB). Why a run focused on mental health? Research is showing that there’s a link between mental health and physical activity, and that by staying active you can reduce your risk of illnesses like depression. With 1 in 5 Canadians directly affected by mental illness, we also know the work of the CMHA of NB touches the lives of many New Brunswickers, and the Fredericton International Airport Authority is proud to be a part of promoting both physical and mental health in our community.
Join us May 23
Although the race is sold out, everyone is invited to be a part of this family-friendly event. On May 23, we’re opening up access to a part of the apron (that’s the part of the tarmac that the planes park on, and is a restricted area) to the public. Stay tuned for details, but you can expect static aircraft displays as well as front-row seats to cheer on the runners! We’ll also have activities for all ages in the pavilion and an expo from 10am – 3pm.
Follow the YFC Runway Run on Facebook and Twitter for updates.
